Worthy McClintock and family papers, 1862-1864.

Consists of approximately 25 letters, primarily between Worthy and his parents, Joshua and Lucy McClintock, but also includes a few letters from family friends and others. The bulk of the letters describe Worthy's experiences in the war and a few give accounts of battles and skirmishes with Confederate troops in graphic detail. The letters from his family describe day-to-day activities, including cheese making and farm work. The collection also contains correspondence from a friend of Joshua's, Royal Taylor, in reply to his inquiries about Worthy's whereabouts in the fall of 1864 and information regarding searches of hospitals and gravesites.
